COVID19 - Bayside Sports Medicine Group

AS A RESULT OF THE EVOLVING COVID-19 CIRCUMSTANCES, WE ARE ADAPTING THE WAY WE PROVIDE PHYSIOTHERAPY FOR SOME OF OUR CURRENT AND NEW CLIENTS. WE ARE STILL HERE FOR YOU, BUT FOR SOME CLIENTS THIS MAY BE IN A DIFFERENT WAY TO BEFORE!

Our highest priority is the continued protection of our patients, their families and our staff. During the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we are following and adopting preventative measures as recommended by the Australian Physiotherapy Association and Australian Medical Association.

We will no longer be providing group clinical pilates/ rehabilitation classes.  Massage therapy is not available at this time. This will be reviewed in the coming months.

Clinicians will be asking that some patients continue their physiotherapy care via telehealth/ online consults. This will allow you to stay safe, up to date with your rehabilitation programs and to discuss any pain and exercise management plans you have moving forward.

If you have acute pain or are needing urgent care, we have physiotherapists still available to treat. Please observe the following guidelines if you are needing to attend the clinic:

Do Not Attend the Clinic If:

We ask that you call to reschedule your appointment if you are unwell, experiencing fever, cough, shortness of breath, or have returned from overseas within the last 14 days, or have been in contact with someone diagnosed with, or testing for Covid-19 infection. Your privacy will be respected.

Coming for your appointment

  • Please wash your hands with soap / use sanitiser when you arrive and before you leave the clinic

  • We ask all patients to please arrive at your appointment time. If you are early or late please call us from your car and we will advise when to come inside.

  • Please limit to only one extra person accompanying the patient into the building. We ask that additional, extra family members wait outside of the building and we understand that some parents may need to wait perhaps in the car with other children. Provided you have your mobile phone, we can update you and make the next appointment from outside the building.

  • For now, we will continue with our normal business hours. If the need arises, this may have to change.

  • To facilitate maximum interpersonal distancing, most appointments will be made as telehealth/ online consults to minimise the number of people in the practice in any one time.

Temporary Reception Room Changes

We will be removing communal items that may be touched by multiple people throughout the day such as magazines, toys and brochures.

There is a line marked on the reception floor, please respect the health and safety of reception staff by remaining behind this line when making payments and dealing with reception.

Infection Control

We have always used cleaning and disinfection protocols for all surfaces in our treatment areas.

All treatment couches and surfaces are wiped down with alcohol wipes before and following use.

Additional Measures

We will be disinfecting commonly touched areas, and all doors handles at regular intervals during the day.
