Michelle’s unique treatment approach incorporates many techniques including joint manipulation, soft tissue massage, dry needling, patient education, and exercise prescription specific to the individual. She adopts a holistic treatment approach combining both her Osteopathic study and Physiotherapy knowledge as she works closely with the Bayside Sports Medicine team. Michelle treats an array of conditions including those affecting the spine, SIJ, pelvis, running and group sport related injuries. Michelle has been running for as long as she can remember moving between athletics, soccer and half marathons, seeing her well versed in running related conditions. With her passion for running came her eagerness to improve her ability with exercise rehabilitation, in particular Pilates. Michelle soon discovered the magical combination of Pilates as a complementary tool to improve running and group sports related biomechanics.
Michelle also has a particular interest in treating pregnancy related pelvic girdle pain having
completed her Masters research on the efficacy of manual therapy alongside exercise rehab to
treat pregnancy related pelvic girdle pain. Michelle’s extensive history as a Pilates instructor has allowed patients to exercise safely and achieve long lasting results through their pregnancy, rehabilitate sporting and chronic injuries.
Michelle has completed further courses in Women’s Pelvic Health at the Osteopathic Pelvic
Health Institution of Australia – Pelvic Floor Level 1 (Internal) and Pelvic Health Melbourne –
Pelvic Health Foundations, APPI Reformer and Matwork, APPI Natal/Post Natal Pilates. She
has further developed her skills by working closely with Pelvic Health Physiotherapists to
integrate pelvic floor assessment findings with functional movement.
